Can I renew my car's roadtax and motor insurance without its grant?
Yes, you can! A third party or representative of the owner can do this for you. Your representative must sign a form to declare that they have received the roadtax on your behalf to be sent to MYEG.
What are the factors taken into consideration when calculating the total protection for my vehicle?
Each vehicle has a different insurance premium based on risk factors, vehicle location, value insured, engine capacity, vehicle age and other factors as well.
What is NCD/NCB?
NCB/NCD is short for "Non Claim Bonus/Discount". It is given by insurance companies to vehicle owners who have not made any insurance claims due to accidents.

3 years, 30%
4 years, 38.33%

I would like to sell my car. Can I get a refund for my motor insurance?

Must I have both motor insurance and road tax for my vehicle?
Yes. Owners must ensure they have both a valid motor insurance and road tax for their vehicle before it is used on any public road. Failing to do so is against the law.
When is the best time to renew road tax and motor insurance?
You can renew your motor insurance up to 2 months before the expiry of your current policy. You can immediately renew your road tax after purchasing a new insurance policy.
Can I renew road tax without motor insurance?
No. You can only renew your road tax with a valid insurance policy.
How do I make a motor insurance claim?
This is very easy. All you have to do is follow these 5 steps:
1. Collect as much evidence as possible (driver details, pictures and videos)
2. Inform your insurance company as soon as possible.
3. Make a police report within 24 hours of the incident.
4. Fill up a claim form.
5. Send your car to the workshop.
What are the documents I need to make an insurance claim?
These are documents you need:
IC copy of the policy holder
IC copy of the driver (when driver is not the policy holder)
Copy of the vehicle registration card
How do I know if my purchase is successful?
